Prior To Your Booking

  • Read your call sheet when you receive it to make sure you understand which items you need to bring, the timeline, how far away the venue is (to plan your travel/parking and ensure you arrive on-time in the dressing room). Reach out ASAP if you have any questions. Please do not wait until the day of the event.

  • Once you click ‘CONFIRM’ via Studio Binder your booker knows you are aware of all of these details. You must click confirm for every call sheet.

Arrival & Presentation

  • Always allow extra time for traffic/parking. Plan your route the day before the gig at the latest. Punctuality is the MOST important part of our impression to the client.

  • Your call time is your time to be IN the dressing room, not to be parking. Please arrive early and allow time for parking and finding your way. Make sure you have your talent manager's number saved (it's on your call sheet). All late arrivals will be logged and may affect the frequency of future bookings.

  • Study the timeline and have your phone out with the time visible during prep-time and during breaks. Your talent manager is there to assist, but you are responsible for your punctuality as an individual. You must be in place at your set start time - not leaving the dressing room at that time.

  • Arrive looking professional and polished - hair is tidy, etc. NO sweatshirts/sweatpants, messy hair, etc. Your gig begins the minute you arrive, and our brand needs to be presented in a sleek way. Play the part from start to finish.

You are welcome to bring something comfortable to wear in the dressing room and for warming up, etc. If you are going to be rehearsing a spotlight act on-site before the event, please bring clean, black warm up clothes and burjus.

Makeup

  • Makeup needs to be OVER THE TOP. We expect a full makeup base with concealer/foundation/powder, fake lashes, a dense glitter lip, etc. You should look notably different from the guests from your makeup alone. We are ramping up our makeup skills as a company, so please train yourself to do so.

  • You must have your full makeup/hair kit with you at every gig. Do not rely on sharing with your co-workers.

Costumes

  • Bring nude undergarments and black burjus/dress shoes to EVERY event, even if it’s not noted on your call sheet.

  • Check your call sheet for any costume pieces we have asked you to provide.

  • No holes in fishnets/tights.

  • Please be careful and respectful of MDV’s costumes and props. Let your talent manager know if any repairs need to be made.

  • Do not wear perfume or scented body lotion.

  • Let us know if a costume is not fitting properly and we will make a note for future events.

Final Polishing

  • Final polishing will happen 15 min before the talent set begins. This will give you at least 45 min for hair/makeup/costume prep. If you need additional time and want to get ready leisurely at home prior to your call-time, that is great. Either way, we expect you in full hair/makeup/costume 15 MIN PRIOR TO YOUR SET TIME. Your talent manager will make sure everything is correct. They may give you notes. Please make those adjustments as requested. This also gives us time to get to the starting point in the venue a few minutes early and lets us be visible to the client before they start looking for us.

Backstage

  • Know your timeline. This is your homework prior to the gig. Check your call sheet ahead of time and be on top of your own timeline. Talent managers will give time checks and reminders for when to be ready but please be responsible for yourself. Have your phone out and your clock visible. Set alarms if you need to.

  • Listen to and be respectful of your talent managers, help them out as needed.

  • Be respectful and friendly to the planner and to other vendors. This makes a hugely important impression.

  • Keep the dressing room looking nice in case the planner or client comes through to talk to you or the manager.

  • Our job is to keep the planner/client as relaxed as possible.

Timeline

  • The call sheet timeline is STRICT and start/end times are firm unless the client asks for a 5 min stall, etc. This is VERY important with our corporate clients.

Performance set times may be shifted forward or back slightly if the event timeline is running early or late and is explicitly asked by the planner/client. Please be flexible within these parameters and make sure you have a 30-min buffer time in your schedule for events running behind.

Your talent manager will speak directly to the planner and make sure they understand that they have a few options :

  • 1) We can allow for UP TO A 30 MIN lag but not longer.

  • 2) IF it’s a longer lag we will need to shorten the set and/or head out.

Performance

  • Unless otherwise stated, keep it PG.

  • It is important that you talk to the guests. Welcome them, ask if they want a picture, etc. Just wearing a costume is not the full gig, you must BECOME A CHARACTER.

  • Performance set times may be shifted forward or back slightly if the event timeline is running early or late. Any changes will be subject to the talent managers’ discretion, but the amount of time you are performing will not change. Your talent manager will be respectful of your time. Please make sure you have a bit of buffer time following the gig just in case a slight shift is requested.

Safety

  • Your safety is our number one priority. All our talent managers know to keep their eyes out for any guests behaving inappropriately. If you need help from a talent manager (for any reason) you can make a peace sign with your fingers and they will come check in. You can also always walk away from any guest behaving inappropriately, if that happens, find your talent manager and let them handle it.

  • If you are feeling unwell or have an injury, etc let your talent manager know. Do NOT attend a booking if you are injured or ill. Contact your booker as soon as you can to notify them so they can re-cast a booking in advance.

Transportation

  • Tax Write-Off Reminder : You are an independent contractor so your gas money can be logged as a tax write-off as well as parking when a client is not able to validate it.

  • Parking is validated for some but not all events. This will be noted on your call sheet.

Food

  • Eat before your event and/or bring a snack. Your energy is a huge part of your booking - so make sure you have fuel.

  • Vendor meals/snacks are provided at some but not all events, this will be noted on your call sheet. We do not always know what time the meal will be served so make sure to eat before and bring a snack if it's a long gig.

  • There is NO alcohol or recreational drugs consumption allowed before, during, or after gigs. If event staff or the client offers you alcohol, politely decline.

Photos

  • We love your backstage pics! Please take them and feel free to share on Instagram and tag @maison_de_v_entertainment. Please DO NOT tag the venue, client, or event planner. This is because some events ask us not to due to their corporate regulations and we want to be cautious.

*Snow/Weather Clause (Winter Event)

  • If there is an event cancellation called for by the client due to weather OR if you are unable to make it to your gig due to weather all parties are held harmless for a cancellation (no payment due in this circumstance by client or booking agency and no penalty fee owed by talent).
*By confirming a gig you accept this clause. If you have ANY questions about this please reach out before confirming.
